Debi was a member of the Los Angeles-based country music band Honey Pig for six years, writing and producing most of the songs on their two CDs, “Exactly As We Are” and “Clueless You.” Voted one of the top 100 L.A. bands for three years running, Honey Pig sang at Dodgers and Lakers games and even had a song on NPR’s much-listened-to show, “Car Talk.”

Bill Mulligan - Dr. Versavius

Bill has turned his love of science and movies into a passion for squeezing as many blood drenched effects as possible from a low budget. he has contributed to the effects of Fistful of Brains, A few Brains More, Forbidden Woods and Z-13. he loves to share his techniques with others and hopes that there will soon be so many people making horror movies that he will have an endless supply of DVDs to watch in his declining years.

Ed Warner

Edward Warner is an actor and musician from Raleigh, North Carolina. Edward stars in a dual role as Deadeye and his brother Lazarus in The Adrenalin Group’s latest film,  “A Few Brains More – The Summer of Blood”.  Look for him in The Adrenalin Group’s zombie/western film, “Fistful of Brains”.  He was also in “The Forever Dead” which was released on Brain Damage Films in March of 2008.
Edward owns and operates Raleigh’s premier haunted attraction, The Frightmare Haunted House. When he is not acting or working on his haunt, he’s playing in his band “KIFF – Knowledge is for Fools”. Emlee Vassilos an actress from Raleigh, NC.  She has been in the recent productions of Dividing the Estate, Faith County II and Kudzu: A Hometown Musical.  She has worked on the recent film projects of A Few Brains More: Summer of Blood, Renee:The Movie, Trinity Goodheart, Destiny Road and the tv webisodes of Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II and Back to the Wild Wild West. "It's more than just a hobby to me, it's a work of art that takes on moment of an authors life and allows him or her to express how they saw the world in that moment.  It is our job as actors not only to use our talents to help them express that view point and to collaborate with others to create something greater than any individual, but it also allows us as actors to do the same thing in turn - express how we see the world. It is my wish that through viewing my work our audiences are able to connect in part with the characters so that as our characters learn about the world around them our audiences can learn as well"

Michael Ray Williams

Michael started to pursue acting as a serious career during the second year of High School.  After graduating in 2004 he began working more on films for about four years, working with a few different groups in Raleigh. In addition to the film work he started bolstering his skill list with workshops and various classes ranging from "Accent and Dialects", "Stage Combat", and "Comedia del Arte Physicality".  For the last four years, however, Michael has returned to the stage working for several community theatre groups in and around Alamance County.  He works from all angles in the theatre, from lighting design and execution, to prop design and construction, right up to Directing. Some of his theate credits include "Ernst Ludwig" in Cabaret, "John Proctor" in The Crucible, and "Frederic" in The Pirates of Penzance.  In 2010 he played the role of "Jack" with the Adrenaline Group's film production of "A Few Brains More: Summer of Blood" and with the same group he wrote and directed the short film "Perception".  One noteable thing he was involved with recently was a Live theatrical production of Joss Whedon's "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" with Burlington's League of Extraordinary Thespians.  In the show he was fortunate enough to be cast as the good Doctor himself.

Paul Cardullo - John Dumas

Paul Cardullo believes it is sometime necessary to suffer for ones art. As John Dumas in A Few Brains More: Summer of Blood, he endured being covered in [spoilers], having [spoilers] thrown at him, having a gentleman [spoilers] him, and spending a year and a half with muttonchops and a 70’s-style mustache. For the short "Watch You Back", Paul spent 8+ hours chained up on the floor of a hot, unairconditioned storage container in nothing but his boxers and a strait jacket.

When not being abused for the sake of his craft, Paul works on computers, plays his mandolin, and watches as many obscure (and not so obscure) movies as he can fit in.

Amber Teachey

Amber has always loved performing, but she did not find her love of acting until she started working with The Adrenalin Group. She was an extra in their film Fistful of Brains and then went on to play Sylvia in the sequel 'A Few Brains More: Summer of Blood'. She also acted in three short films for Adrenalin: 'Loneliness', 'Perception', and 'Broken' and was featured as a model in the art book 'They Called it Graveyard Girls' by Shane Trotter of Stiff magazine. In addition to the enjoyment and fulfillment she experiences as an actress, Amber has truly come to appreciate the hard work that goes into making a film or any artistic project. Having recently signed a contract with Talent One, she is looking forward to working on many more films.

Kevin Teachey got involved with the indie film group Adrenalin while answering a call for extras for the film Fistful of Brains in 2007. Since then he has worked on several projects with them. He was cast as Tyrone in Adrenalins most recent feature film A Few Brains More: Summer of Blood. He played the lead opposite his wife Amber Teachey in the short film Loneliness. And most recently he played the lead Aaron, in Michael Ray Williams Sci Fi short called Perception. During the 2011 Greensboro 48 Hour Film Festival he turned out an emotional performance in their award winning entry Broken. In addition to his talents as an actor, Kevin is also an accomplished musician. He composed music for Loneliness as well as Perception and Broken.

Growing up, Shane could never imagine being an actor. He thought to be on a stage and have everyone staring at him was a frightening thing. In his Junior year of High School some of his friends took him to see a midnight performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Seeing those people up on stage acting out the movie as it played in the background he thought I want to do that!. The following week the High School drama department had a call for extras for their current play. Shane showed up and got a small part. Thus his acting career began. In the Spring of 2010, Shane saw an event posted on Facebook calling for extras in Christine  Parkers independent zombie film A Few Brains More: Summer of Blood. By the time the filming was completed he had ended up playing 5 different characters for the film. While working with the Adrenalin Group, Shane has also been learning to create Special Makeup Effects from Bill Mulligan. He has worked with the Adrenalin Group on their films Loneliness, Perception, and Broken. He even did the Special Effects Makeup on Perception. He also appears in the Mad Ones Films production of The Gospel According to Booze, Bullets, and Hot Pink Jesus: Act III, Have Faith Will Travel, as well as many, many other films. You will be seeing a lot more of him in the future.

Carrie Jones, known to friends and family as Scary Carrie, is a woman of many talents.  During the 1970s she performed as a NYC night club singer who sang at clubs that included Folk City and the Café Wha?.  After taking a break from the NYC night club scene, Carrie performed with the Funny Farm, a comedy troupe from Norfolk, VA where she developed her skills in live improvisational comedy and comedic acting.  Always leaving her audiences laughing, she left the Funny Farm and started a new life in Raleigh, NC.  Twenty years later, she was discovered by the Adrenaline Group when she worked as an extra for Fistful of Brains. She ended up in a cameo shot where she played the old lady zombie that ate more than several fistfuls of brains, thus earning her the title role.  It was there her passion for horror films and scaring the living daylights out of friends and family emerged.  With the Adrenaline Group, Carrie co-starred in the independent short film, Dead of the Night, where she scared audiences with her joyful expertise and skill in wielding a chainsaw.  Most recently, Carrie was able to apply her comedic abilities and acting talents by playing the Russian Scientist in A Few Brains More.  As an active member of the Adrenaline Group, Carrie is the Associate Producer for A Few Brains More and Broken.  She also is the film production companys makeup artist and hairstylist who keeps the stars looking gorgeous until things go horrifically awry.

Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, Alan Watkins is a software engineer/university professor by day and independent film maker by night! He first became interested in film making while in college, and although his main career took a different path, he is very interested in all aspects of the film making process from writing and directing to lighting and special effects makeup. His recent work includes Loneliness which he wrote and produced, A Few Brains More where he played a zombie and was the lighting technician, Perception (lighting), Flush with Fear (gaffer), and Watch Your Back which he wrote, produced and directed. All of these films are currently in the festival circuit.

MAD ONES FILMS formed in 2004, originally taking shape in the form of a mysterious group of cynical film-buffs and social critics known as the CSC. Comprised originally of three misfits and great friends (Jennie Prince, Jaysen Buterin, and J. Evan Wade), the CSC lunchtime agendas fostered conversations of mirth and hilarity. After witnessing events like the 2005 Greensboro 48 Hour Film Project, the CSC decided to make movies, and then informally dubbed themselves "The Mad Ones."
MAD ONES FILMS prides itself on delivering polished films and offering a quality product that often far surpasses the budget (or lack thereof) we have to spend due to the talents, dedication, and drive of all its respective members. Their stories cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from the hilarious well-meaning antics of Ben Jones in "Z-Day: A Fantastic Zombie Love Story" and the "Zombie Service Announcement" Series, to the brooding psychotic bloodshed evident in the underground cult hit, "The Devil's Tramping Ground." Jaysen Buterin wrote the screenplay for "DTG" (as it is now affectionately called) based off a piece of North Carolina folklore and incorporated a love for literature, Rock-n-Roll, and classic horror movies to depict the downfall of the Pre-Madonnas, the hardest working band in town. This modern take on Faustian myth premiered April 26, 2007 and has been screened to enthusiastic audiences and positive feedback across North Carolina and the Southeast.
Mad Ones Films attendees:
Jaysen P. Buterin: Creative Director, Writer/Director - "The Missionary Man"
Nhia "Money" Vang: Assistant Director, Editor, SFX
Mikey Cordes: Editor, Director of Photography, Camera
Jesse Knight: Director of Photography, Camera
J. Evan Wade - Co Founder/ Executive Producer
Jennie Prince - Co Founder

Actor.  Writer.  Director.  Producer.  Musician.  Drummer (wait for it…). Model.  Artist.  Canvas.  Columnist.  Music Journalist.  When it comes to wearing different hats it’s a damn good thing that Jaysen Buterin has such a big head.  Not his actual ego, mind you… but literally the sheer physical size of his cranium – something akin to lugging around an orange on a toothpick.  And so it was that Jaysen (and his cerebral Sputnik), shuffled onto this mortal coil one bicentennial day back in 1976, by way of the maternity ward at the Clayton Hospital, making his world premiere in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Rather early on, Jaysen had the sneaking suspicion that his path in life may divert down a slightly more “unconventional” direction than others.  At the tender young age of four, he became the only kindergartener in Warren County history to successfully and effectively use three out of seven of George Carlin’s “Dirty Words”. (An accolade, as far as he knows, he still holds to this day).  And so was born a lifelong love affair with words, both the profane and the profound, as well as the kick start to the heart that comes with the attention-getting adrenalin rush of performing.
Fast forward thru the commercials of capricious youth.   Armed with a pen in one hand and a pair of drumsticks in the other, hell-bent and heuristic, he sped down the highway of higher learning when he relocated to Cape Girardeau, MO.  Here an adventure in academentia resulted in two degrees for our hero and, more importantly, in the big bang creation of his professional writing career as a music journalist and columnist.  The next thing he knew was eastbound and down – loaded up and trucking, right into Greensboro, North Carolina.
Working as a graphic and web designer by day, fanning the flames of the rock & roll fires by night (and getting a Master’s Degree in Literature in between), Buterin found his cinematic partners in crime when he founded Mad Ones Films in the summer of 2006.  This was just in time to compete in the Greensboro 48 Hour Film Project where he won a Honourable Mention for Best Writing with “Z-Day: A Fantastic Zombie Love Story.”  Once again feeling that kick start to the heart, Jaysen took to pen and paper to write his first official screenplay, “The Devil’s Tramping Ground.”
Based off of local legends and ghost stories, this modern-day Faustian rock & roll thriller thrust Buterin in front of the camera as a lead actor but it was behind the lens where he felt his true calling lie (at least, according to the voices in his head).  Another dalliance with the 48 Hour Film Project put him on the hot pink path to the director’s chair where he created such short film masterpieces as “Behind the Mistletoe,” the “Zombie Service Announcement Series (Z.S.A.’s),” “Flipper Stripper Vixens at the Inferno A-Go-Go!!!” and the award-winning slasher horror/comedy cult classic, “The Decapitator.”
For the last two years Buterin has devoted both himself and the Mad Ones to labouring away on a sin-soaked scintillating titillating thrill ride of a short film trilogy, “The Gospel According to Booze, Bullets & Hot Pink Jesus.”  Act III of the Trilogy, “Have Faith, Will Travel” will premiere early 2012.  As the writer and director of the cinematic second coming, and as Creative Director of Mad Ones Films, Buterin’s mission has been to show the unbridled kaleidoscopic creativity just waiting to be unleashed when the inmates are finally allowed to roam free and run the moviemaking asylum.  Once the HPJ Trilogy is completed, Buterin will lead the Mad Ones into the first of many feature film forays.  At the moment there are several scripts running amok in that big giant head of his... stay tuned!

George Bonilla is as passionate a filmmaker as you would ever hope to meet. He literally puts his heart and soul into every project he takes on. If you ask him about his past accomplishments, you’re not likely to get much of an answer. That’s because he’s bubbling with enthusiasm over his current film.  George Bonilla turned his back on a successful career in television to devote his time to see to fruition the films he wanted to make. He sought creative control on his projects, and started over from scratch to gain that control.   After traveling the globe, Bonilla settled in Lexington, Kentucky and formed ZP Productions. He produced and directed his first feature film, Zombie Planet, with an amateur crew in Lexington. By Hollywood standards, it was a risky move to embark on a project of the magnitude of Zombie Planet with a staff of unknowns, but it paid off. Zombie Planet was released world-wide in 2004.  Zombie Planet spawned a sequel, Zombie Planet II: Adam’s Revenge in 2005. Dance With a Vampire followed in 2006.  The intellectual thriller, The Edison Death Machine, became an award-winning film, taking home the trophy for BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS at the FRIGHT NIGHT FILM FEST, and BEST SCIENCE FICTION FILM 2007 at IT CAME FROM LAKE MICHIGAN.   2007 saw the release of Monstrosity. Fueled by the return to the screen of John Dugan, from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the film was a smash-hit at its festival appearances playing to standing-room only crowds. This success was followed up with 2008’s Hell-ephone ,an ingenuous horror story with a twist. Hell-ephone features an all-star cast that includes model Alex Del Monacco and Friday The 13th’s original Jason, Ari Lehman.   In 2008, George Bonilla was honored as KENTUCKY FILMMMAKER OF THE YEAR. It was a fitting tribute to a man who has helped so many others get their start.  Switching gears in 2009, Bonilla and company released a very unique short film, Indiana Jones and The Mummy’s Skull. The fan film  was cast entirely with children 12 years and under.  Done initially as a fun project for his nieces and nephews, the film drew attention and won the BEST FAN FILM award at FRIGHT NIGHT 2009.    The next feature for ZP International was a fun-filled family friendly feature, Santa Claus Versus the Zombies .released during the 2010 holiday season. Available in both 3-D and standard versions, the film has sold well and exceeded expectations during its pay Per View run.   Switching gears again, ZP International produced an instructional video, Fighting on Film: Enter the Independent during the production of Santa Claus Versus the Zombies.   In early 2010, Bonilla’s colleagues honored him yet again with the award for KENTUCKY FILMMAKER OF THE DECADE.    2011 brought a return to the horror genre with the aptly-titled Bunker of Blood which was followed by the tongue-in-cheek Mockumentary Surviving the Zombie Plague.
