General
Saber Idol is a "saber" contest designed around aspects of popular United States television shows.  Saber Idol is designed for the master saberman/saberwoman to show off his or her gift.  The competition is to be entered by individuals with a set of choreographed saber demonstrations that highlight finesse without fighting. One demonstration for each musical theme will be required. This is a controlled and civilized demonstration that will not only show the skill of the sabermaster, but their discipline, grace, and their flare for the dynamic and dramatic!  The judges in attendance will choose the Saber Idol champion following three (3) rounds of competition.

Round one will have a musical theme featuring movie theme songs.  This means the demonstration must be choreographed to a song from a motion picture totaling one minute in length.  After each contestant completes their routines, the Judges will issue comments and then a score from 0-10.  Scores will be accumulative and will ultimately decide the winner of Saber Idol 2008. Contestants will then be interviewed by the Saber Idol host, Qui Kel Jinn.

Round two will have a musical theme of 80s style songs. This means the demonstration must be choreographed to a song from the 1980’s totaling one minute in length.  After each contestant completes their routines, the Judges will issue comments and then a score from 0-10.  Contestants will then be interviewed by the Saber Idol host, Qui Kel Jinn.

The final round will have one musical theme.  This theme will include a song of the Judge’s choosing.  The judges will vote for the contestant they think should win.  The contestant receiving the most votes will be the 2008 ConNooga Saber Idol Champion!
